Northwest Baptist Convention Executive Director Randy Adams Announces Retirement Plan

As the Northwest Baptist Convention begins the process of finding a successor for their current executive director-treasurer, Randy Adams, the Baptist community in Vancouver, Wash. is reflecting on his impactful leadership over the past eight years. Adams, who has been at the helm of the convention since 2013, has announced his intention to transition towards retirement in the coming year.

Adams, 63, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the Northwest Baptists and work alongside them in furthering the mission of the convention. His commitment to the Great Commission and dedication to serving the kingdom of God has left a lasting impact on the churches in the Northwest.

With Adams’ retirement on the horizon, the NWBC officers will soon form an executive director search committee to identify a potential candidate to recommend to the full board. The process will culminate in the election of a new executive director by NWBC messengers, ensuring a smooth transition of leadership.

Adams’ journey in Baptist ministries began during his college years at Montana Technical University, where he felt called to vocational ministry and eventually pursued a master of divinity and a doctor of philosophy in preaching. His experience in various churches and state conventions has equipped him to lead the Northwest Baptist Convention with integrity, courage, and humility.

As Adams and his wife, Paula, look forward to the next chapter of their lives in the Northwest, the Baptist community is grateful for their continued service and excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. The legacy of Dr. Randy Adams will undoubtedly continue to inspire and impact the churches in the Northwest for years to come.
