132d Comptroller Flight, Iowa Air National Guard Supports USAFE Finance Office at Ramstein Airbase

Ramstein Airbase in Germany is home to the USAFE finance office, the largest and busiest Air Force finance office in the world. This office plays a crucial role in supporting AFRICOM and all of the European Theatre. During the peak PCS season from May to September, the office experiences a surge in activity as members transition to new assignments.

In recent years, the 132d Comptroller Flight from the Iowa Air National Guard has been lending a helping hand during this busy season. Their presence has been greatly appreciated by the USAFE Comptroller Squadron, with Lt. Col. Mann noting the significant impact they have made. From assisting walk-in customers to tackling long-term issues, the 132d CPTF team has proven to be a valuable asset.

What sets this collaboration apart is the genuine effort to build a strong working relationship between the Air National Guard unit and the active duty comptroller flight. Senior Master Sgt. Troy Granahan and his team have embedded themselves within the USAFE CPTS, gaining valuable insights into how the active duty finance office operates.

This partnership is mutually beneficial, with the 132d CPTF gaining valuable experience and the USAFE CPTS receiving much-needed support during their high-tempo mission. The opportunity for the Air National Guard members to train at the MAJCOM level and tackle large-scale financial matters is invaluable.

The dedication and professionalism of the 132d CPTF members have not gone unnoticed. Their willingness to go above and beyond in supporting the USAFE office has led to opportunities for future collaborations and deployments. The strong relationship established between the two units has even resulted in active-duty members transferring to the Air National Guard upon completing their service.

Overall, the partnership between the 132d Comptroller Flight and the USAFE Comptroller Squadron serves as a shining example of how teamwork and collaboration can lead to success. By working together, both units have been able to enhance their capabilities and support the Air Force mission effectively.
