CFP Board Launches 100K Pro Bono Challenge to Encourage Financial Planners to Give Back
Are you a Certified Financial Planner® professional looking to make a difference in your community? If so, the CFP Board has just the challenge for you! The 100K Pro Bono Challenge is a nationwide initiative that aims to collectively provide 100,000 more pro bono hours than last year.
In 2023, CFP® professionals reported 312,237 pro bono hours, and the goal for 2024 is to reach 412,237 pro bono hours. This challenge celebrates the recent milestone of reaching 100,000 CFP® professionals and encourages them to give back to their communities through volunteer work.
To participate in the challenge, CFP® professionals must volunteer at least one hour in 2024 and report their pro bono hours by December 31, 2024. By joining the challenge, you not only help others but also demonstrate the financial planning profession’s commitment to community service.
Participants will receive a digital certificate of participation in early January 2025, recognizing their dedication to pro bono work. Additionally, CFP Board will award digital badges to volunteers who have completed 20+, 60+, or 100+ hours of pro bono financial planning.
Expanding access to competent and ethical financial planners through pro bono services is a top priority for CFP Board. They have partnered with the Foundation for Financial Planning (FFP) to make the process of volunteering easy for CFP® professionals, nonprofits, and underserved Americans.
